TradeData is an open knowledge base of supply chain relationships maintained via collaboration of a community of volunteers. Anyone can contribute knowledge about buyers, suppliers, products and raw materials. All information can be challenged or ratified by any member of the community at any time.
Our mission is to link products with their origins and enable supply chain transparency to promote accountability, sustainability and social responsibility amongst the international business community.
TradeData sources it's information from two places:
We have a simple but robust data model: within specfic verticals, we start with retailers, mulitnational brands, and their so-called Tier 1 suppliers, and map the connections between products, product precursors, and suppliers back through three or four tiers of suppliers until we reach raw materials. Our goal is to map the movement and transformation of products from their origin until the point of consumption.
